NITDA Cooperative Thrift and Credit Society

NITDA Cooperative Thrift and Credit Society Limited is registered under the Northern region Cooperative Society Laws no 9 of 1956 in Abuja and was founded in 2009 with the sole objective of providing quality and efficient services to her members, anchored on improving their economic and social well-being. The secretariat of the cooperative is currently located at No 28 Port Harcourt Crescent area 11 Garki Abuja. The Society started operation with initial membership strength of about 30 but today has grown to over 160 members. The cooperative draws its membership mainly from staff of the NITDA. However, staff that retires have gradually started joining the cooperative.

It commenced operation by mobilization of savings and granting of loans to its members that joins at inception. This business practice is what is keeping the cooperative active up till this moment. Remittances in form of saving and various loan refunds from members have increased over the years. As the operation has increased over the years with great intensity and so its performances, the Society is planning to provide the following services in its own expansion drive and raising of capital base.

• Sales of food items and other household consumable during festivities

• Operation of e-Shops platform

• Purchase of Electronics, Household Furniture & equipment

• Provision of Houses through house ownership schemes and mortgage loans

• Children Education Loans

• Regular, Short term and Special Loans
